Blundstone is an iconic Australian brand. MWC has worked with Blundstone in promoting Angry Anderson as the “tough on the outside, soft on the inside” face of the brand. This has been achieved through Angry’s regular gig on national radio where he “puts the boot in”, looking at a local problem and offering help and solutions to the affected community. A  successful campaign in the Illawarra region in NSW saw Angry agitate for change in the government's mental health services after being contacted by a local woman whose son had been repeatedly refused treatment. MWC also negotiates for Angry to appear on various national television programmes, as well as in national and local press. We produced a TVC for the 550 range, integrating the look and feel of the ad with the point of sale material the brand was using throughout Australia. Alongside this, MWC produced 3 30second Community Service Announcements about prostate cancer. Angry’s Rose Tattoo bandmate Pete Wells died of the disease in 2006 and had urged Angry to “get the word out” about getting yourself tested early. MWC launched the campaign with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia with great results, and Blundstone has used its large retail presence to get the message out to men across the country.

Blundstone has partnered with the Australian Podiatry Association (NSW) in promoting Foot Health Week 2006, focusing on workplace safety.

Blundstone engages MWC to proactively explore “outside the square” solutions and ideas, something we are rather good at!
